Lets start Robotics

Image
Hello everyone! So you guys might be anxious and willing to develop your own bot being inspired by the knowledge about or interest for the robotics. But we do also know that the fact that "Little Knowledge is Dangerous" but also thinking that "Something is better than nothing" I would like to share about starting Robotics. So lets take that initial step, shall we! This is the 21st century, age of science and technology where most of us have been using and being addicted to these technology while many are working for the overall development of the technologies. Most us know that what the ROBOT is and what it is capable of along with its implementation in the different sectors. We have been viewing many movies such as Transformers, Terminator, I.Robot, Robot, Ra-One, Chappie, and the list goes on where we can see what the robot is capable of and what is robotics. Not only this the few thing we are using such as Digger, Road Roller, etc can also be termed as Robots sin

Sun Tracking Solar Panel

Image
As the non renewable energy resources are decreasing, use of renewable resources for producing electricity is increasing. Solar panels are becoming more popular day by day. In the country like ours where we face half a day load-shedding it has become the best alternative. Solar panels absorbs the energy from the sun and is stored in the battery. This energy can be utilized when required. Solar panels should absorb energy to maximum extent. This can be one only if the panels are place towards the sun direction. So panels should continuously rotate in the direction of sun.  Sun Tracking Solar Panel Principle The sun tracking solar panel consists of two LDRs, solar panel and stepper motor and Micro-controller. Two light dependent resistors are arranged on the edges of the solar panel. Light dependent resistors produce low resistance when light falls on them. The stepper motor connected to the panel rotates the panel in the direction of Sun. Panel is arranged in such a way that light on tw

Training Of Trainer

Image
Solar energy has a huge potential in Nepal and being a technician who is able to install and maintain solar system definitely has a great career ahead. So seeing it further importance Robotics Association of Nepal(RAN) organized a free two days intensive Training of Trainers program on “Solar Installation + Maintenance and its business aspect” delivered by the maintenance engineers from Gham Power on  15th & 16th July which was supported by Google, Microsoft and The World Bank. Participants for Training of Trainer Participants who were willing to be a part of training must train the Youths in rural areas during the solar distribution campaign in Nuwakot and Dolakha districts organized by Robotics Association of Nepal [RAN]. Many participants applied for this session and it was quite a difficult decision for the selection. Based on their response to the question 20 participants were selected. These selected trainees were trained by the experts from ghampower. Participants learning t

What is a Robot and Robotics?

What is a Robot and Robotics? A robot is a mechanical intelligent agent which can perform tasks on its own, or with guidance. The term robot can also apply to a virtual agent. In practice it is usually an electro-mechanical machine which is guided by computer and electronic programming. Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots. Robotics is related to the sciences of electronics, engineering, mechanics, and software. The word “ robot ” was introduced to the public by Czech writer Karel ?apek in his play R.U.R. (Rossum’s Universal Robots), published in 1920. The term “robotics” was coined by Isaac Asimov in his 1941 science fiction short-story “Liar!”. The Three Laws of Robotics , written by science fiction author Isaac Asimov and later expanded upon. The rules are introduced in his 1942 short story “Runaround”. The Laws are: A robot may not injure a human being or, throu

RAN combining All Robotic Society

Image
RAN( ran.org.np ) launched the concept for bringing the over all robotics club, electronics engineering students and many more into the common society where the projects will be discussed, ideas will be shared and knowledge would be explored.   The beginning of this was started by the talk program on 28th June,2015 at Kathmandu Engineering College, Kalimati which is just the starting phase. Being a part of this initiation itself is a great opportunity to explore for strengthening the robotics and electronics community in Nepal. This have started in Kathmandu valley and will soon be moving out of valley as well, thus connecting all engineering students across the nation. Being the first talk program, the content tried to cover was too much and was unable to cover them all as well. Your feedbacks are highly accepted. The feedback of yours will certainly shape the program in the right direction. For next talk program: Venue: National College of Engineering, Talchikhel NCE Location Map   T
